ABOVE & FACING PAGE: Building a home in the desert is all about controlling and managing the sun while still respecting nature, and this home is no exception. Deep
overhangs protect a surprisingly large number of windows, leading to low energy consumption and beautiful views. The home itself references the site, with columns
that resemble tree trunks, a roof color that alludes to the strong palo verde trees, and grey and green masonry walls that tie into the rough texture of the surrounding
vegetation.
