429 On The Boards Future Homes I t's always a positive experience when I look at upcoming projects and think about what effect they will have on the homeowners. It gives me an inspirational sense of what's to come and highlights the difference architecture can make in people's lives. Everyday life can be enriched through design and I firmly believe that architecture's greatest impact isn't on our surroundings, but within us. We create rejuvenating spaces to help people feel centered and reconnected. They are places people long to remain in and don't want to leave. How do we do this? We strive to understand the clients' world and design around the five senses, intentionally redirecting the focus on what matters to them, and f raming aesthetics based on how it makes them feel. Our designs are not only unique, but uniquely suited to you. In short, we create customized sanctuaries—and they all begin in the critical planning phases. Aesthetics affect our emotions, and developing rejuvenating spaces requires us to leverage materials, sequencing, adjacencies, light, scale, proportion, and nature in ways that subtly shift the mind into a more positive state. As you thumb through this chapter, consider all of the excitement and possibilities that await when building a custom home. We see with more than our eyes. Feel the energy of the designs as you take in the details of the renderings, photos, and drawings.
