LEFT: Without proper lighting, you cannot see form, function, and spatial beauty.
That's why when I renovated the modern farmhouse, I didn't see the windows as
an afterthought or something purely practical. I used them to turn light into art
and as a means to enhance the geometry of the space. The strong angles and lines
of the windows serve as a picture f rame to the site's surrounding beauty, making
the lush greenery a part of the kitchen, dining room, and living spaces.
ABOVE & FACING PAGE: Angles can appear cold and harsh if not properly executed,
which is why I gave them special attention for this design. Found throughout the
home's façade, dynamic angles give the backyard its eye-catching appeal. I used
them in the roofline of the outdoor kitchen, in relation to the main structure, and
window lines.
