ABOVE & FACING PAGE: Perched on a bluff with sweeping views of the Pacific
Ocean and adjacent protected headlands, this project doubled the size of the
original 1970s home. With upper floor living spaces, all the principal rooms
enjoy a dramatic ocean view. One key to the success of this design is providing
a gracious entry. Window openings were strategically placed to maximize
privacy and foster the sense of seclusion. This project required extensive
coordination with the California Coastal Commission, but in the end it was
more than worth it.
