ABOVE & FACING PAGE: A retirement home built for the owners to age-in-place reflects their appreciation
for the beauty of the Sonoran Desert. They requested a glass home, designed for its environment, that is to
be used as a winter home and capture natural light all day long. We created a sunlight-filled living space
that opens to outdoor areas, sheltered and shaded f rom the harsh desert elements, plus a flexible loft space
used for personal activities. The LEED concept includes energy-efficiency construction and an integrated
solar-collection system that serves as cover for outdoor living.
