sand, clay, and silt. The color pigment, and cement that is blended with water to make a damp mixture that is then packed inside a wood formwork. Rammed earth
homes are extremely durable and low maintenance… you're building a home that hardens into solid rock.
FACING PAGE: The lack of material changes created a harmony with the desert, which required restraint within the home's interiors. The emphasis is on the desert light
with lots of window space, opening the inside to the outside. The interiors are neutral but contrasting, strong but comforting, and most importantly, they are timeless.
