ABOVE, LEFT & FACING PAGE: Throughout the day—and particularly at dawn and dusk—the
form and materials of the house are animated by the ever-changing skyscape. The moods can
be soft and passive or angular and dynamic. Each day brings a new discovery. The central stair
tower features a dramatic glass wall for an outside-in effect, flooding each floor with natural
light. The ubiquitous lanai gets a new twist, as the central living space can become an open-
air veranda to catch coastal breezes or closed with automated shades to create comfort and
intimacy. St. Croix limestone provides a smooth surface that extends f rom the f ront door to
the infinity pool and terrace, which is the perfect place to watch the dolphins, manatees, and
pelicans play.
