ABOVE: Fostering an enduring connection to nature, Elk Peak Ranch's design embraces the historic ranching property, creating a dialogue between indoor and outdoor
entertaining. A 15-foot-wide Starglass movie screen lifts f rom an underground climate-controlled vault for a truly 21st-century cinema paradiso. Adjacent, an outdoor living
room, kitchen, infinity pool, and hot tub seamlessly integrate into a preserved agricultural field with a soccer field and sport court beyond.
FACING PAGE: We designed Elk Peak Ranch with a particular orientation to capture sweeping views of the Elk Mountain Range. The roof plane floats over the main living
area, sloping to a 23-foot-tall glazed curtain wall, drawing the eye and experience across the field to the dramatic mountain landscape. With a geothermal ground loop
system and solar array, the 15,000-square-foot residence is able to maintain all heating and cooling needs through a renewable energy source, and earned LEED Silver
certification.
