Living Spaces, Decks & Patios

athrooms are the most personal rooms in a home, and often where people spend
time alone for much-needed moments of respite. Unlike other spaces, bathrooms
aren't meant for gathering or entertaining, which makes the demands of the space
unique. Here I get the opportunity to marry function and form, optimizing luxury and
comfort without sacrificing any of the practical needs.
Over the years, bathrooms have increasingly taken on more of a spa-like quality. Most of
my clients want a haven to escape to in the evenings and a peaceful place to prepare for
the day in the mornings. Calming shades of grey, white, cream, and taupe are ideal for
creating a serene bathroom, but that doesn't mean there can't be elements of surprise
woven into the design. I like to use accessories with pops of color for a touch of bright,
eye-catching drama.
Although guest baths and powder rooms are much smaller and don't get the same
attention as master bathrooms, they have the capacity to make a big impact on visitors.
It's one of the few times that guests are completely alone in a room, giving them time
to study and take in details of the space. This is my chance to create something private,
luxurious, and beautiful that will have an impact.
