Inspired Outdoor Living
ABOVE: This beautiful, traditional home in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, lacked an indoor-outdoor experience, so we transformed the entire
backyard into a luxurious area for the family to enjoy. We used arches and curves throughout the design to create an elegant interpolation that
ties the new architecture of the outdoor living spaces into the design of the existing main house.
FACING PAGE TOP AND BOT TOM RIGHT: Part of the project included an exquisite pool house that features an outdoor kitchen with state-of-the-
art appliances along with a dining area that celebrates the pool views. The dramatic outdoor living area was centered around a stone fireplace
with bench seating on each side. Since stone and brick are used throughout, we added warmth, height, and texture with a vaulted, wood-paneled
ceiling that amplifies the spatial experience and unifies all the spaces.
FACING PAGE BOT TOM LEFT: We took great care to recognize the details of the existing home to mimic them in the design of the pool house.
From this bird's eye view, you can see the expanse of the project. We surrounded the pool with planters to create a seamless transition between
the landscape and the home, while also providing plenty of space for lounge seating.
