Inspired Outdoor Living
Details
ABOVE AND FACING PAGE: The goal of this project was to create not just a pool house, but also an outdoor living and wellness complex at a
private property. As such, the indoor/outdoor pool house boasts a sauna, a plunge pool, a massage room, and changing areas. The design uses
two axes as organizing elements. A large axis, along the elongated Olympic-sized pool, leads to a large pavilion—the pool house—while a shorter,
parapedicular axis leads to a lounge area in a smaller pavilion. Organizing the various elements of the complex was the biggest challenge and
unifying them required a firm focus. Straddling the line between modern and traditional, this pool house and pavilion feel familiar yet new,
inviting the owners and their guests to feel renewed and relaxed with each visit to this wellness oasis.
