THIS PAGE: So many destinations in this Woodside, California, landscape are found as one wanders this dream of a garden. The sunny rose garden
can be viewed from a studio, bedrooms, and a secluded balcony. The many unique benches throughout this garden encourage one to take the
time to enjoy the experience of this very special space.
FACING PAGE TOP: Since its initial design in 1997, this garden has been renovated to remove more than 4,000 square feet of lawn. The evolution
has been a process of retaining large oaks and redwoods, creating a canopy to protect roots and soil along with companion planting, and to utilize
rainwater in the landscape wherever possible. Native and low-water indigenous plants were selected along with some of the residents' favorites.
FACING PAGE BOT TOM: This midcentury classic was recently lovingly restored by its owners. The scheme was to allow the home to demurely
reveal its character in its natural California seing. To echo the elegant style of the home, a special Japanese maple was introduced and is a
wonderful focal point. Giant Allium bloom perennially and are showstoppers.
