Inspired Outdoor Living
ABOVE: Moonlighting was installed along the massive trees lining the driveway.
A feature focus of this project was the illumination of the shed. The lighting
provides safety and warmth, without distracting from the natural, rustic charm of
the property. The backdrop behind this rustic shed was accomplished by first up
lighting the tree. Downlights with a high CRI (color rendering index) give a vivid
wash on the smaller trees behind the shed.
LEFT: The soft downlighting of the water feature and stately crane statue is
accompanied by the illumination of the tree trunk and canopy.

FACING PAGE TOP: The glowing canopy of trees in this project, viewed from the back
deck, was accomplished using downlighting, with fixtures installed 65 feet in the
trees. The effect is a soft illumination of the client's picturesque seating area in the
backyard, upon which layers of lighting were achieved.
FACING PAGE BOT TOM: Grand sycamores, beech, and oaks are illuminated with
a beautiful wash of light in the canopy and ground level of the woods. Smaller
dogwoods and redbud trees are illuminated with Sterling Lighting up light fixtures,
showcasing brilliant, natural color, and seing the most important layering of
lighting in the direct line of sight.
