11 Details ABOVE: Inspired by the prairie, this long, linear flagstone fireplace is a wow factor that bookends the outdoor patio. With its height and placement of the fire, it was intentionally designed to be more aesthetic than functional; it's like an art installation! TOP RIGHT: For a historical home, we wanted the exterior fireplace to have just as much rich history. This high- contrast design features Juliet limestone from an original quarry in the Chicago area. The brick accents are old Chicago street pavers from the turn of the 20th century. BOT TOM RIGHT: Our clients love the aesthetic of visionary architect Frank Lloyd Wright, so this fireplace was directly inspired by his work. The linear Roman brick is eye-catching with the arched detail offering visual interest. Included in the rear of the fireplace is an actual brick from a ruin of a Frank Lloyd Wright home. FACING PAGE: The crowning glory of this traditional brick fireplace is the pair of antlers. This outdoor lounge functions as the equivalent of a man cave and was designed to make a bold statement for a homeowner who is an avid outdoor sportsman.
