6 Inspired Outdoor Living ABOVE: This pristine Roman-shaped pool makes you want to dive right in. The hot tub features a spill-over effect, adding a lovely sound quality to the ambiance. Devonian sandstone provides a richness of color and texture in the design. FACING PAGE TOP: The existing topography of this site created both a challenge and an opportunity with this pool scape. To accommodate, we elevated the hot tub, which steps down to the pool. What's really lovely about this space is how serenely private it feels with the evergreens that form a lush perimeter around it. FACING PAGE BOT TOM LEFT: The clean, geometric lines of this pool and spa align with the architecture of the midcentury modern home. The fireplace is positioned at a 45-degree angle with the pool; at night, the reflection of the lit fire in the water is beautiful. FACING PAGE BOT TOM RIGHT: The repetition of the vertical "spill wall" water feature not only provides a refreshing visual aesthetic to this pool, it also adds a layer of peaceful white noise to the seing. When backlit at night, the spill walls are even more striking. The European umbrellas and lounge furniture, surrounding the fireplace in the background, offer an energetic quality to the space.
