Ocean Views and Sand Dunes
A
serene color palette, natural wood floors, and—of course—layers of detail make this Turtle Beach
home a sight to behold. Located next door to another of Marc's projects, a complete rebuild
that occurred at the same time, this home required a total renovation. Stunning views of the golf
course, sand dunes, and the ocean captivated the owners who live most of the year in London, and
it was important to them that the design capitalized on the views. To do so, Camens Architectural
Group had to reorganize the flow of the space completely.
The main living spaces are located on the second level of the home to maximize views. Large windows
capture the scenery, and the energy flows organically throughout. Marc created multiple functional
areas on the main floor to give the owners flexibility for everyday living. The living room, for instance,
includes a separate sitting area; a round dining space sits just beside it. Coffered ceilings draw the eye
toward the view and custom trim gives the space a refined feel. After the renovation, the home's flow
and energy is the opposite of its original design, which was dark and broken up into smaller spaces.
Soft wood tones mingle with bright white trim and soft interior paint. Wrought iron balusters grant the
stairway a transitional design feel that complements the sophisticated beadboard and large windows.
Subtle trim elements help define spaces in the guest bedrooms and the main living spaces. On the third
floor, nestled beneath the roofline, the master suite enjoys commanding views of the water. New deck
and trellis spaces give the owners and their guests even more opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.
