93 A Place for Family T here's a lot more than initially meets the eye in this seaside, shingle-style home that was designed for a couple who dreamed of a quintessential family home that reflected their love of being together. They wanted the home to serve as the foundation for hosting groups both large and small while also maximizing the property's beautiful marsh setting. To understand just exactly how to wrap this home around the people living within it, Marc spent a weekend at the family's existing residence in Maryland. There, he discovered how much they loved to cook and entertain and watch sports together, too. To that end, he envisioned family and friends convening for cocktails and conversation around the expansive nine-seat island in the kitchen and the adjacent turquoise bar. He also thought about groups gathering to watch movies and football games in the main living area, where beautiful beams and recessed ceiling details define the space. Coastal living is also celebrated in every room through postcard-perfect views. An expansive Adirondack lodge- inspired outdoor living space with ceiling trusses and a massive stone fireplace opens onto a saltwater pool, outdoor kitchen, and cozy nooks. Exactly aligned with the owners' dream for a functional yet beautiful home that puts family first, it truly is a place made for memories. KIAWAH ISLAND, SC
