One with Nature
N
estled among ancient trees, the home seems to emerge from the landscape itself. It was, of course,
created per Marc's long-standing design principles, namely, design a home from the inside, out.
Its green shingle façade, crisp white trim, and stunning natural wood accents blend beautifully with
the outside world, though, that one might be tempted to assume the opposite was true. As soon as
the front door swings gracefully open, the characteristic Camens vibe is evident. Fine millwork and
intriguing windows capture the eye while light floods the living room from above.
The inviting space capitalizes on the views of the marsh just beyond the infinity-edge pool out back.
Notable ceiling details create a sense of division in each space, with shallow coffers above the dining
area separate from those in the kitchen. Handcrafted cabinetry and a custom island—complete with a
breakfast bar—give the kitchen flexibility for anything from casual weeknight meals to larger gatherings,
and anything in between. Above the farmer's sink, a window looks out onto the screened porch, an
inviting place to rest with a good book or close friends.
Upon entering the home, an unassuming stairway peeks out from the corner, adorned with a honey-
brown banister and a portal window. Warm, natural light floods over anyone who begins their ascent to
the second level. Custom ceiling trusses offset the bright-white wash of the walls and draw the eye even
further up, heightening the space without leaving one feeling ungrounded. Among the home's features
are built-in bunk beds upstairs for guests and a multi-level outdoor space with upper and lower decks.
