Rethinking Architecture: From the Inside Out
e Eagle Has Landed
W
hen a busy Manhattan executive wanted to have a respite from Wall Street, a slice of land on
Kiawah's Eagle Point Road was the perfect starting point. Although the lot was connected
to this future homeowner through a family tie — and came with its own set of architecture plans—
Camens Architectural Group had the opportunity to develop a new vision for the site.
After spending some time on the land, experiencing the unmatched views, and discovering how
the owners wanted to live in their new home, Marc designed a beautiful transitional structure that
boasted contemporary lines, traditional detailing, and an open floor plan with a beautiful entry
sequence.
One of the most unique features of the home's design is the two-story rotunda. Not only is it an
architectural standout from the exterior, inside it serves an important purpose as a live-work space
that provides spectacular views to the marsh beyond.
To accommodate the long, narrow lot line, Marc aligned the pool and outdoor lounge directly off the
main living room for an uninterrupted flow from interior to exterior and to the views beyond.
The results are breathtaking — and a truly peaceful place to land away from big-city living.
