257 Dreaming in 3D N estled in the tall trees, this home emerges as a distinctive charmer full of family-friendly warmth. This shingle-style home features a welcoming stairway under a slatted and domed entry. The feature continues inside, where light from the central dormer filters in through the slats in the foyer. Semi-circle cutouts below the flanking dormers grant the space a stately presence, while the unique trim package gives the design a comforting weight. The entry's circular theme is seen throughout, appearing again in the ceilings and hallways right off the entry. Originally built for the homeowner and his parents to live in when he retired, the home features a mother-in-law suite over the two-car garage, as well as two stairways. One stairway is located near the back of the design, off the kitchen, and leads to the guest rooms. The second stairway leads right off the main living area to another set of bedrooms. The two-stairway format is classically Camens in that it is designed around the needs and lives of the people who call the house a home. Heavy columns in the kitchen and dining space offset the floating cabinets over the stove. The central island allows for more prep space in the kitchen as well as flexible entertainment space in the heart of the home. The coffered ceiling over the dining table lines up perfectly with the columns, adding sophistication through organization. The back deck features a pool with disappearing edges on three sides as well as covered and uncovered sitting areas under the canopy of foliage. KIAWAH ISLAND, SC
