When this homeowner came to us swooning over inspiration photos of a black kitchen, we were delighted to walk on the dark side, knowing that the white marble counters
and backsplash would keep the room feeling fresh and bright. It was also important to the owner that the space didn't translate as overly glam, but as welcoming instead. We
accomplished that with a softer approach in color and finishes: Brass finishes and white oak accents are a warm counterpoint to the cabinetry's low luster sheen in Benjamin
Moore's Baby Seal Black, a black with blue undertones. Subtle, statement-making accents are what really make an impact, too — like the repeated chevron design in the range
hood, the bespoke ceiling panel, and at the ends of the floor-to-ceiling oak cabinets that divide the kitchen from the entry. With details like hidden storage, pull-out cabinets, and
even a dedicated place for the pups to eat, we strive to make every kitchen as functional as it beautiful.
