For this beautiful renovation in Browns Point, Washington, we tripled the size of the kitchen by removing walls and completing reimagining
the space to be more whimsically modern, functional — and pet-friendly! The center island, which was formerly only four feet long, was
extended to a far more expansive 10 feet; there's even a dedicated dog station on one end. Another transformative element involved
shifting the palette from darker tones to a refreshed, lighter aesthetic. The white cabinetry played a big role in this; we added the
juxtaposition of the darker wall of cabinets for visual interest. A white kitchen doesn't have to be all white, after all! The mosaic glass
backsplash tile is another eye-catching feature, with the mix of aqua colors installed in a herringbone pattern. It's a lovely pairing with the
blue-veined quartzite countertops and medium-tone wood floors, which create a foundational warmth in the space.
