4 INSPIRED KITCKENS & BATHS The best way to describe this bathroom's original layout is that it was very strange — and it was very dark, too! So, we ushered in a completely new layout, removing walls and a corner soaking tub to create a better flow, a larger closet, and more room for two people to share the space. The updated color palette is a very happy, bluish-grey tone that is uplifting to the spirit! It resonates beautifully with the natural quartzite used in the countertop and the shower bench. Instead of using the more standard small backsplash tile in the vanity area, we carried the larger subway tile throughout the wall and shower for a seamless effect. To add another special touch to this spa-inspired bath, heated floors were installed for the warmth that's needed in the cold Washington weather. The bench is heated, too!
