This midcentury-modern home was originally built in the early 1960s by a student of Eichler, a leader in "California Modern" style. We completely renovated and restored
it to meet current structural, electrical, and energy-efficiency codes as it was in serious disrepair when purchased. Numerous and various design elements were
inconsistent with the original architectural intent of the house from subsequent remodels, as well. We did the most work in the kitchen, opening the layout and improving
the flow through the small family and dining room and out to the deck area and pool. The rich peacock-blue hue of the lower cabinetry makes an eye-catching statement
when juxtaposed with Carrara marble, white Swiss-cross shaped backsplash tile, white upper cabinets, and walnut wood accents. Mixed-metal accents in the hardware
and fixtures along with eclectic, sculptural lighting ties the space together with panache.
