6 INSPIRED KITCKENS & BATHS
ABOVE: The original 30-year-old builder's kitchen had a large footprint, but a poor layout. Without changing the room's infrastructure, this brand-new kitchen earns its place as
the heart of this home. Traditional beaded inset cabinetry in two finishes gives depth to the space and visually delineates the different zones. Other notable features include a
wood counter to highlight the island's wraparound seating and a chef's sink beneath the windows that transforms meal prep and cleanup.
FACING PAGE: These homeowners wanted a "wow" kitchen and butler's pantry, and by relocating the kitchen to the center of their 1940s-era home, we were able to achieve their
vision. The former kitchen was transformed into a dramatic and functional butler's pantry and wet bar, with enough space to add a closet, pet feeding station, and enlarge the
dining room. This kitchen also blends custom cabinetry in multiple finishes — white at the perimeter, glazed pecan for the island, natural pecan on the floating shelves, and walnut
with a custom dark-blue stain in the butler's pantry. The stunning quartzite backsplash and countertops of quartzite, marble, and Caesarstone — materials as beautiful as they
are functional — complete the transformation.
