9 Foreword Like nearly everything in our world, the kitchen and bath industry continues to evolve and change tremendously. There are exciting developments and innovations constantly being made in technology, wellness, sustainability, design, and more every single day. As the world's leading kitchen and bath association, NKBA is fortunate to have a front-row seat to witness the incredible new developments in the industry — and the talent behind them. I've been working with the NKBA for nearly 25 years, and there isn't a day that goes by that I'm not inspired by it all. But, despite the dynamic growth and advancements, what I find most wonderful about kitchens and baths is actually something that doesn't change, and that is how integral and important these spaces are to a home. The kitchen is the public-facing heart of the home. It's the place where we prepare nourishment and sustenance for our friends and family; it's where we entertain and make memories with those closest to us; it's where our kids do their homework; it's where we gather around the table and have meaningful conversations. When it comes to the bathroom, this is where we most likely start and end our days. It's where we can get energized, as we get ready in the morning, and it's where we can relax and restore in the evenings. As such vital spaces in our homes, both kitchens and baths demand the utmost attention to functionality and form. They should be as pretty as they are practical. After all, so much joy is derived from beautiful and comfortable surroundings that are personalized to our unique aesthetics and lifestyles. And it requires a collaborative team effort to bring a kitchen or a bathroom to life, from builder, to designer, manufacturer, contactor, and beyond. As an all- industry association, NKBA represents everyone; it makes us the ultimate connective thread for our members. We help them succeed through learning and certification, proprietary research, expert resources, and exclusive industry events, like our signature KBIS show. In 2024, KBIS celebrates 60 years! This annual gathering is the largest kitchen and bath expo in North America, where industry professionals can experience new products, explore the latest trends, and network with leading brands — and have fun.
