This urban loft deserved a modern kitchen — and we were more than happy to comply. We leaned into this lovely blue color to create a beautifully saturated effect that
commands attention yet remains classic, especially when paired with the stunning white marble. Special care was taken in the selections of the hardware; the repetition of long,
linear cabinet pulls brings the space together. Mixing metals is another way to introduce a contemporary edge to a space. Here, we marry brushed bronze with stainless steel
and nickel.
One of the issues when remodeling concrete-floored buildings, such as this one, is relocating plumbing because we can't cut into the floor — at least not without seriously
offending the downstairs neighbors! Even with this limitation, we were still able to expand this kitchen substantially, with the sink remaining close to its original location. The
addition of a stand desk in the corner makes homework and mail sorting easy.
