104 For a midcentury home on the lake, we fully remodeled this kitchen — originally a galley space in the corner — to elevate its style and take full advantage of the lake view. To create synergy between the living room and kitchen, we matched the wood paneling in the walnut flat-front cabinets and wrapped the existing ceiling beams in the same wood. The new engineered plank flooring, in a brushed oak color, complements them nicely. The island allows plenty of seating, and a beautiful blue soapstone was used on the counter, which offers a lovely contrast to the PentalQuartz in Gray Lagoon that's on the perimeter counters. The scalloped tile backsplash above the 36-inch Wolf range is a spirited accent for the space that also echoes the water outside.
