A true chef's kitchen, this space features double and steam ovens, dual sinks, dual dishwashers, and a separate full-size refrigerator and freezer. The darker, Prairie-style island
holds center court to create a contemporary visual center point. It also invites comparison to yin and yang: Quartz offers durability as a working surface and the warm wood
gives comfort as a resting and dining surface. The vaulted ceiling with dropped oak beams likewise brings warmth to the space, while the sleek, vertical-grain oak cabinets
emphasize the airy 10-foot ceilings around the perimeter. The tall ceilings also allow for additional cabinets with glass doors to showcase decorative pieces. A walk-in pantry,
complete with its very own pot filler for coffee, is tucked around the corner from the kitchen's main traffic area; it doubles as a home management center. A multi-slide glass
door that pockets into the wall expands the kitchen into a screened porch, which boasts a built-in grill, gas fireplace, and ceiling heaters for cool Michigan evenings, all while
overlooking the river outside.
