THIS PAGE AND FACING PAGE TOP: Nestled in the heart of Hilton Head Plantation, this classic island cottage was in need of refurbishment —
and we certainly brought it back to life, beginning with this stunner of a kitchen. By manipulating the use of interior space, the newly assigned
kitchen area delivers a fresh coastal contemporary aesthetic that's flooded with natural light and complemented by bright cabinetry. The
subtle yet statement-making, floor-to-ceiling backsplash in geometric sky-blue tile is a uniquely transformative feature, and it's beautiful
when paired with honed marble countertops. The island seats four yet leaves plenty of room for food preparation. An adjacent dry bar and
dining area make this large space feel both cohesive and intimate.
FACING PAGE BOTTOM: This kitchen renovation was a dramatic change for a Mt. Pleasant family. The refrigerator was relocated and a
peninsula was eliminated in favor of an island. The real star of the show is the vintage-inspired tile backsplash and the lovely blue cabinet
color that was selected to complement the aqua shade in the sparkling quartz.
