We created this open-plan, modern-bungalow kitchen for a private chef and her family who definitely
did not want a typical white space. So we brought forth an environment filled with luxe details and
vibrant energy for everyday use. This kitchen pairs color, classic finishes, and handcrafted touches
— along with curated art and pottery — to make a statement. One of the biggest standout features is
the green island (Verdigris Green by Farrow & Ball, to be exact!), which brought a sense of liveliness
to the space for the homeowners who knew they wanted color but were hesitant to introduce too
much of it. The black soapstone countertops and matching backsplash give the kitchen an edge
with a dark, modern contrast that connects back to the black-finished wood windows. Surrounding
the perimeter custom cabinetry in Farrow & Ball's Wevet grey provides a calming, timeless feel to
complete this kitchen.

"I am a huge believer in embracing color. Someone
I very much admire has often said, 'Living without
color is like living without love.' It is so true."
