This bright, open, and airy kitchen was fully upgraded from an outdated and dark builder-grade kitchen that lacked storage and design functionality. Walls were removed and
a large island was added along with a tall pantry cabinet, a walk-in pantry, and more base and wall cabinets. The homeowners are in love with the simple, clean lines of these
creamy-white cabinets complemented by the warmth of the rift-cut, white oak island and simple black hardware. Indeed, the island is a statement feature; it's 116 inches long
and provides seating on one side and functional workspace on the other. I love this leathered finish for the granite countertops rather than the polished option; it's a more subtle
approach that blends beautifully with the oversized subway tile on the backsplash. The bump-out window behind the farmhouse sink brings in so much light to amplify the soft
radiance in this kitchen. Spending family time in the new kitchen space as well as entertaining with family and friends is now the new normal for this young family.
