354 This classic home was built in 1927 and is located just seven minutes from the two historic winter homes of Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. For this bathroom, my clients wanted to honor the original design of the 1920s while upgrading the space to have all the new and contemporary conveniences. We created a beautiful and functional bathroom with an eye-catching monochromatic palette. Vintage-inspired flooring, framed mirrors, a dainty chandelier, and brass and crystal fixtures all point to classic, early 20th-century design cues. I love the unexpected elegance of mixing and matching patterns. For example: The shower floor tile is a statement- making contrast to the bathroom's other flooring and the marble shower walls. The black-and-white, palm-print wallcovering in the water closet was originally designed in the early 1900s, which imbued the entire bathroom with a 1920s spirit.
