356 A beautiful collection of French and European antiques acquired over time and an existing palette of soft greens, taupe, and cinnamon were the starting point for this bathroom. We extended that design aesthetic while incorporating easy-to- care-for finishes. This long, narrow space had a heavy header over the sink area, which we removed to open it up. Inspired by French chateau floors, we created a custom stone and wood-look pattern from porcelain tile, which is highly durable and perfect for a bathroom. The dramatic tile floor draws you into the space. Each tile had to be expertly cut and placed to realize the design. The result is a rhythm of pattern, color, and texture. The porcelain tile and leathered quartzite countertop form a soft background for the added color of custom mosaics and ceramic molding details. Cabinet moldings and cabriole legs evoke European style. Gold lighting elements, juxtaposed against dark bronze faucets, form the perfect accents, and the wallpaper in the water closet adds a touch of elegance.
