Considered by many to be the best hole on the course for design,
playability, and setting, Quilchena Golf and Country Club's
number 12 delivers the ultimate contemporary golf experience.
Trees on both sides of the fairway make this hole look narrower
than it plays, but don't relax too much. A large tree on the left and
a group of trees, short and right of the green, block approaches
to the green from errant tee shots. Going off line here can land
you in real trouble.
Even from the fairway, the second shot is an exciting one. The
small green is accessed through a restricted narrow opening,
and the rest of the green is surrounded by water. Often a
pivotal hole, many friendly matches and tournaments swing on
the twelfth.
Typical of the course's design and rich, natural surroundings,
the hole makes it easy to forget the city is just minutes away.
Quilchena is truly a restorative retreat from hectic daily life, and
every hole contributes to its identity as "a world apart."
