45 TWo EAGLES Golf Course & Academy PAR 5 528 yARDS Westbank, BC 250.768.0080 www.twoeaglesgolf.com Combining the championship qualities of a classic Les Furber design with the playability of a mid-length facility, Two Eagles Golf Course & Academy embodies a refreshing concept. Regardless of your age or ability, Two Eagles is an extremely friendly environment in which to learn, to grow, and to enjoy the game of golf. Add in the rolling hills and ponderosa pines overlooking Okanagan Lake, and it is an experience you will want to repeat over and over. The style is reminiscent of definitive Les Furber designs such as Predator Ridge, Silvertip, and Trickle Creek, which use the natural landscapes to shape the golf holes. Typical of his courses, Two Eagles is strikingly visual in nature. "People best appreciate what they see," Furber says, "not what they know or think they know." As you negotiate the two creeks, six ponds, 72 sand traps, and undulating bent-grass greens, you will find that no two holes present the same challenge. On the tee box of the 528-yard 11th, you're faced with a narrow gap featuring a soft dogleg left that is framed by majestic pines, a rocky creek meandering along the left side of the fairway, and a large bunker protecting the right side. A decision is now required on the tee shot: an aggressive line to take advantage of the par 5 or a conservative tee ball to lead to a third shot approach. Bunkers are well placed and capture many a ball for those attempting to hit the green in two shots. The three-tiered green makes accuracy and distance control very important for any birdie opportunity. Remember to enjoy the view of the lake and surrounding mountains as you continue your round at Two Eagles. 11 Photograph by Stephanie Tracey of Photography West, Kelowna
