67 MoRGAN CREEK Golf Course PAR 4 442 yARDS Surrey, BC 604.531.GoLF(4653) www.morgancreekgolf.com When Tom McBroom, one of Canada's leading course architects, crafted Morgan Creek Golf Club from the natural contours of the land, a spectacular course was sure to follow, given its surroundings of breathtaking Mount Baker and the rugged Golden Ears Mountain Range. Strategic bunkering and natural water features make the course both scenic and memorable no matter what time of year you play. Named "Golf Facility of the Year" by the PGA of British Columbia in 2008 and listed as one of Golf Digest's "Places to Play," the 18-hole, 6,900-yard beauty impresses golfers of all levels. Players far and wide are attracted to the course's location in Surrey, just 30 minutes from the heart of Vancouver and 10 minutes from the international border at Blaine, Washington. Whether playing from the black tee of hole 9—442 yards to the green—or the shorter red teeing ground, all golfers will enjoy this challenge. A good tee shot on the tree- lined par-4 hole will send you to the left side of an expansive and receptive fairway; too far right and you are faced with a full carry, over water, to a two-tiered, kidney- shaped green. From the fairway's left side, a slight fade will find you targeting the back of the green. At the front, a depression on the left would require a delicate chip shot to avoid watching your ball roll with the strong left-to-right incline into the pond. Regardless of your exact placement, every shot is a reminder that accuracy is your best friend. Morgan Creek is truly a great golf experience—from tee to green. 9 Photograph by John Johnson
