The course at Quilchena Golf and Country Club is designed to present the player
with much more than just a physical challenge. Naturally, playing the course requires
strength and accuracy, but the test reaches far beyond. In fact, the third hole, which
won't necessarily intimidate golfers with its distance, will certainly bring into play the
best of the game's mental challenges.
The pond along the left side of the fairway helps to shape the left-to-right dogleg.
However, as much as players instinctively shy away from water to err on the side
of safety, tee shots have to favor that side as tall trees guard the right side. A very
well-designed short par 4, hole 3 requires players to carefully choose their club
and direction to lay up to their preferred yardage for a second shot onto a gently
sloped green.
The rest of Quilchena's 120 acres of natural beauty continue to set the standard for
privacy, exclusivity, and service, enhancing the experience at every use of a club.
Players could not ask for a finer course than this par-73 layout.
A course that taxes the full range of each player's skills is the culmination of the club's
15 charter members, who first brought their vision to fruition more than 85 years ago.
