This desert hideaway ensures complete privacy and was a fully trans-
formative remodel, from the entry gates to the interior layout and
even the landscaping. The owner and developer, a Greek shipping ty-
coon, was intensely involved in the planning and gave valuable design
input on everything from the flawless kitchen finishes to the updated
landscaping. The outdoor makeover includes a new pool and enter-
taining pavilion, a private lake with boat launch, lighted tennis court,
equestrian riding arena, and adding two large barbecue areas and
loggias. At more than 10,000 square feet and sat on upwards of eight
acres, the home has plenty of room to accommodate family, friends,
and guests. Classic European style runs throughout the home, with lus-
trous wood floors and retracting glass walls allowing the nearby San
Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountain views to shine. The neutral palette
encourages the contemporary lighting, a lot of which is channel-set
into the ceiling, to subtly add a modern edge. Though each room pos-
sesses its own impressive charm, the glass-enclosed wine room, bar
and screening theater, and elegant library are all delightful surprises
to discover when wandering the home. Two primary retreats even of-
fer their own kitchenettes, palatial bathrooms, and direct patio access.
