When we renovated this Bay Area home, we evaluated our clients' needs
and reimagined the entire property in its fullest potential. Our focus was
to fully customize it to the homeowners who decided to make it their
forever home. We wanted this house to feel like they designed it from
the ground up while still adhering closely to the original footprint. We
reconfigured the entire home into a space that was beautiful, practical,
energy efficient, and could evolve with the family for years to come. Addi-
tional square footage in the kitchen allowed for improved functionality,
as the space accommodates more than one cook. We chose nature-based
design materials and finishes that were inspired by the family's interests
in the outdoors. This allowed for increased natural light and a blurring of
the lines between the indors and out.
While the kitchen is elegant, we kept the sunken living room family-
friendly with plenty of space to read and play games. With flexibility to
expand, the dining room can host large dinner parties, as the bi-folding
door connects the outdoor living space to the indoors, further enhancing
the nature-based design elements seen throughout the home.
