5 Our homes are meant to be extraordinary, to make an impression on the people who live in them, visit them, and even see them from afar. Nestled on the shores of Lake Tapps, this home shows off the seamless harmony between architecture and environment as our design celebrates the beauty of its surroundings. We achieved an overarching concept for this project that celebrates the home's surroundings. It revolves around its harmonious integration with a challenging steep slope hillside. A deliberate step-down approach accomplishes this and unveils captivating vistas of Lake Tapps and the majestic backdrop of Mount Rainier. Our design ethos extends to the windows themselves, as we aimed to mirror the elegance of the surrounding trees. The windows, characterized by their slender and lofty profiles, emulate the trunks of trees, while the sporadic mullions artfully evoke the intricate branching patterns you'd find in nature. To further anchor the structure in its environment, we employed a wealth of natural materials such as wood and concrete, ensuring a blend with the organic surroundings. One of the most compelling aspects of residential architecture is the unique ability of those who conceive the design to also bring it to life through construction. This dynamic process allows our projects to evolve organically, which you can get a clear sense of when you see this home. It has a natural essence to it, and nothing feels forced. The lakeside perspective captures the dwelling's waterfront façade, which is flows effortlessly into its surroundings. On the eastern side, you'll find slider window patterns that reflect nature, as well as a negative-edge pool.
