Inspired Modern Living
CLOCKWISE FROM ABOVE LEFT: From the owner's entry at the rear of house, the curving stone block wall encloses the
formal side courtyard. The rammed earth water feature at night includes a metal rebar sculpture that's a repurposed
relic, culled from a past construction project of the owner. The side courtyard is adjacent to the brick structure, which
features a dog-level horizontal window and houses the formal dining room. The rammed earth studio is beyond with the
stacked stone privacy wall at right blocking off the driveway.
FACING PAGE: The gallery hall is 102 feet long and connects the front door to the back entry door with a skylight adjacent
to the sitting room. Colored LED lights create an ever-changing scene at night while dappled sunlight creates dynamic
scenes during the day; limbs and leaves offer a dance of shadows along the polished concrete floors. Photography by
the architect adorns the gallery wall below an interior window that allows natural light to filter into the guest bathroom.
