Inspired Modern Living
This sanctuary-like residence, aptly named "Serenity Point" by its
owner, is nestled on a peninsula of rugged terrain extending into
Flathead Lake in Western Montana. Accessed via a winding gravel
road along the lakeshore, it serves as a peaceful refuge as well as a
welcoming space to entertain family and friends. The 2,787-square-
foot home was designed to naturally emerge from the landscape and
integrate with its breathtaking surroundings — to be a space that
harmonizes with the tranquil waters, rocky terrain, expansive blue
skies, and majestic mountain views.

Inspired by the timeless charm of a traditional mountain cabin, the low-profile gabled
structure juxtaposes solidity and lightness. The undulating stone base mimics the rugged
lakeshore, providing privacy for the primary suite and guest bedroom, while the slender
wood framework reflects the surrounding pine forest and allows for an open, airy main
living space that's oriented to capture panoramic lakefront views. Clad in tree bark-colored
siding, the home blurs the line between interior and exterior, offering an immersive, cozy
sanctuary that encourages both indoor and outdoor living.
Inside, the vaulted wood ceilings and expansive transparency of the living space merge with
modern elements, such as cable lighting and a steel-clad fireplace. Interior designer Lori
Robinson of LFR Design brought in a curated blend of traditional and modern influences,
accented by mid-century flair. Plush velvet furnishings echo the comfort and shelter of the
surrounding forest, enhancing the home's retreat-like quality.
