Set between the wooded landscape and the high rises of Atlanta's Buckhead neighborhood, this modern, light-filled
retreat finds harmony in contrast. The design embraces transparency from front to back, while creating intentional
layers of privacy.
The home is centered around a private courtyard, enclosed at the back by a taller two-story section that shields
views of neighboring high rises while purposely framing views of the natural tree canopy. Inspired by the fluidity of
the neighboring creek and the topography, the architecture takes on a dynamic, ribbon-like form with a collision of
elegantly cascading geometric forms. Inside, the grand entry foyer flows into a central atrium — where movement,
light, and structure converge. Window walls are carefully placed to maintain a clear visual connection to the outdoors
while maintaining privacy from its urban surroundings.
Materiality plays a crucial role in shaping the home's character. Darker finishes allow the surrounding greenery to pop,
while stacked stone, natural wood, and textured surfaces offset the crisp white stucco, adding warmth and depth.
The result is a home that balances structure and softness, transparency and privacy, and organic movement with
geometric precision — a seamless blend of nature and modernity.
