TOP: This 5,000-square-foot modern home is located on a three-acre hillside lot in
Phoenix, Arizona. With distant views of the mountains and city lights to the west and
additional mountain views to the north, the home orients to these views and wraps
around an outdoor living and entertaining area. When completed, the home will have
more than 1,300 square feet of covered outdoor living space with a pool, outdoor kitchen,
and dining areas.
BOTTOM: This 4,800-square-foot modern home in Carefree, Arizona, features a great
room that frames Black Mountain with glass that's nearly 16 feet high by 40 feet wide
and protected by a 20-foot cantilevered roof overhang. The outdoor living area includes
a large pool, spa, barbecue, tanning area, and large amounts of covered outdoor patio
space. Roof cantilevers protect the home from the harsh Sonoran sun — and there are no
columns to block the view!

FACING PAGE: The development of Sincuidados in Scottsdale, Arizona, offered a beautiful
and challenging site for the Woz Macy Home. A large wash enveloping one-third of the lot
greatly reduced the land's usable portion. However, the site offered incredible mountain
views, so the home is oriented to take advantage of them with large expanses of glass
under deep overhangs. The color and material palette are purely modern and stand as a
tribute to the owners who desired to live in a modern home.
