The interior spaces of the home are layered and deep, effortlessly flowing
from indoor to outdoor and flooded with natural light. The material palette of
the interior is an extension of the architecture. Ceiling, wall, and floor planes
continue, seamlessly, through large expanses of collapsing glass doors framing
the view beyond.
The rotation of the second-floor volume towards the view activates the central
courtyard in a dynamic way and provides relief to the rear façade from the
waterfront. Vertical glass fins help diffuse natural light deep into the courtyard.
The positioning of glass fins is specifically curated to pick up reflections of the
architecture, planting, and sky, dressing the courtyard façade in light and air. In the
evening, they are illuminated to become a soft lantern for the courtyard space.
The result of the design reconnects the family with the outdoor surrounding
gardens while meeting the programmatic demands of the modern family.

through a well-designed home
is often more impactful than
the architecture itself."
