Every detail of this residence was thoughtfully considered to ensure it felt both contemporary and personal for clients
who desired a clean, minimal aesthetic while maintaining a strong sense of "home." Beauty is blended with functionality
in every detail, including the lighting, which played a pivotal role to bring the home to life in the evening while remaining
equally stimulating during the day. The home's outdoor living spaces are meticulously designed to evoke both curiosity
and calm, offering a peaceful retreat throughout the year. The palette seamlessly transitions from winter to summer,
with the combination of warm woods and large-format grey tile, grounding the space.
Inside, the cohesive and harmonious flow continues, starting with the great room. Here, the roof height prevented
vertical flues, so the design team created unified fireplaces surrounded by glass units that frame the lake view. Floating
lights, resembling lily pads, enhance the space with a sense of wonder and intimacy.
The lower-level game room and bar welcome family and friends after boat rides. The same stone material used upstairs
is repeated on the lower-level walls, creating continuity and subtly separating the guest suites from the common areas.
The client was inspired by a floating staircase seen in a magazine. The design required intricate structural planning and
expansive glass, but the result exceeded expectations, showcasing both beauty and innovation.
