Inspired Modern Living
This residence sits on the box canyon bluff outside Telluride Colorado, facing East pulling the
morning sun and all its energy into all the living spaces and master bedroom suite. The support
functions sit in the sturdy cast concrete base while the living spaces float above with a sloping
timber roof timber tilting up to allow maximum light and solar gain in the morning.
The continuous band of Eastern glazing allows all the living spaces to fully extend and bring in the
full mountain landscape at Telluride. The interior living space is one with the rugged landscape
of the mountain bluff. the residence sits into the natural landscape like it was always there.
It has a timeless connection with the environment as it brings building with environmental
sustainability to the forefront. The charred wood siding on the concrete base brings resiliency
to a residence in this remote location.
