Architect Travis Price calls this residence "Super-Passive Solar Facing Southern
Twin Mountains."
Facing the Blue Ridge Mountains in West Virginia is this home, where its two tall
green tree towers eye the sun as it slowly rises from the east only to softly drift
westward to yellow-red sunsets.
The two towers of this design mirror and honor their twin mountain cousins, which
they face. The structures stand tall amidst their fellow pine trees, as the winter sun
shines through glass to provide warmth. The high suns of summer are cooled with
fresh sunshade blades outside. No clocks are wanted, all shade is provided.
The north walls are green copper, in praise of this timeless setting. Glass walkways
serve as a walkway between the two towers, celebrating the vista of split mountains
beyond as rooftop gardens flourish.

"We design architecture
that shapes the spirit of our
shelters, knowing that for
years to come, our shelters will
shape our spirits."
