348 Inspired Modern Living A compelling combination of different pieces that makes a collective whole, the mosaic pays tribute to the timeless beauty of ancient craftsmanship coupled with the ever-evolving demands of modern luxury. Having grown up in Ravenna, Italy — a global mecca for mosaic art — I was fortunate to be inspired by this millennia-old tradition of craftsmanship, every single day. It certainly nurtured my passion for this classical art form. Historically, mosaics were mostly made of rocks and marbles — combined in a way that created a pattern, scene, or representation. The first well- known mosaic was made 5,000 years ago in Crete, Greece. It's still there, so we have a pretty good representation of what kind of materials they were using. Over the years though, mosaics have been developed in so many ways and materials have changed over time. Mostly what I use today is high-end glass because it gives a bigger range of colors and features that we can use to create something incredibly innovative and durable while paying homage to the original awe and performance of the mosaic art form. Indeed, each mosaic we create is a bespoke work of art — designed with a precision focus on the environment and the audience intended to experience it. The goal is to transform ordinary spaces into living, dimensional art forms. The photos on the right demonstrate how tile can be visual jewelry as a total pool design, or realistic one-of-a-kind pieces of art incorporated into your home, bath or pool. If you can dream it, we can make it. For example: Through the power of mosaics, a pool, garden, mural, or backdrop becomes an immersive realm where intricate glass tiles converge with elements like light, water, or nature to create a dynamic visual experience. Essentially, these mosaic-clad spaces are not just beautiful sanctuaries, but they are also places where life-long memories are made. They are personal, alluring, and timeless, creating an unmatched sense of luxury where everyone feels as if they are active participants in a work of art.
